2018 Fall Indoor Soccer Registration

The Toronto Azzurri SC will be offering an Indoor Program focusing on skill development and motivational team dynamics. The Fall Program will commence on Wednesday October 10th and run every Wednesday until December 12th (10 weeks) at:

La Liga Indoor Facility
1107 Finch Ave West
North York, Ont. M3J 2P7

 Each session is an hour in length. The first 30 minutes is devoted to improving the child’s technical ability with the soccer ball. The second half hour will be running controlled game situations.  Every Team (group) will have an experienced coach in charge.

Registration for the 2018 Fall Indoor season is in progress.  By registering with the Toronto Azzurri, you have read and understood the parents and players Code of Conduct.

1. Register Online

Register and pay with cash.  You can register now and arrange payment via mail or in person at our offices.
Register and pay with a credit card .  Your credit card will be billed.  (We care about your credit card security. Find out more.)

When you complete and submit the online form, you will receive a confirmation email confirming your registration. Registrants will not be placed on teams until payment is received. Please provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

For all on-site registration, you must go to the  LiUNA Clubhouse at the Toronto Azzurri Sport Village – 4995 Keele Street Toronto

2018 Azzurri Day is now over but the memories will live on.   It was great to see family, friends and players all meet together on the final day of the season to play their final games and to enjoy some food and fun.  There were some exciting games played and we’ve listed the final standings in the results tables below.

We would like to thank all the players, parents, volunteers, staff and friends who helped make it a fun Azzurri day and 2018 soccer season.

Azzurri Day Playoff Schedules:

Dear Parents/Players/Coaches:

Information regarding Azzurri Day on Saturday August 18, 2018:

  1. Division and time of playoff games are posted in the above links.
  2. Parking will be available from 8:00 a.m. and onwards as our first games start at 8:30 a.m

Handicapped Parking Spaces: On Saturday, please ensure that you are not parking in a handicapped space unless you hold a City of Toronto issued Handicapped Parking Permit.    Toronto 311:  Toronto 311 Parking Authorities will be called if any parking infractions are noted.

 Parking at the churches will be available at the Indonesian Christian Church and Toronto Full Gospel church on Petrolia as has been all season.  The parking is limited this year as the Indonesian Christian Church also has a function in the church on Saturday August 18, 2018.   There will be parking lot attendants at the lots, please respect their direction.

Keele Street/Clubhouse parking will only be open to Toronto Azzurri Soccer Club which have parking passes displayed.

Note: parking here will be limited.

When the yellow gates of the parking lot are closed there will be no more parking at this site.  There will be parking lot attendants at this lot, please respect their direction.

Additional parking has been arranged with our neighbours in the next complex. Please note that there will be parking lot attendants at this lot as well.  Only park in the designated locations.

Guest parking will be accommodated at the churches.

  1. Information station/trophy station/picture station/first aid station/ Referee Station/BBQ station will be in the SOUTH FIELD area.

There will be event tents provided with limited seating with chairs and tables, you are encouraged to bring your own chair if possible.

Each player receives 3 tickets – each ticket – the player will receive either a hamburger or hotdog and a juice.  The hamburger and hotdog are beef. If your child has any dietary restrictions. kindly send an email to mary.severino@torontoazzurri.com– no later than Thursday, August 16, 2018 with your child’s name and age. We will try to accommodate as best as possible.  If your child has a nut allergy – we cannot guarantee the bread or meat has NOT come in contact with nuts.

  1. After your last game is finished, proceed with your coach/team to get your trophies and pictures. Your coach will know where to go. At that time your coach will be giving the 3 tickets to your child after your team pictures and trophies have been distributed.
  2. After you have received your trophy and pictures – your team will proceed to the BBQ area – your team will be assigned either Station 1 or Station 2 for food/drink pick up. Your coach will know which station to go to.
  3. Pictures Discrepancies– if there is any discrepancy with the photos – please call High Five Photography at 416-410-4785.  If you are not able to attend Azzurri Day – you can pick up the pictures on Tuesday August 21, 2018- at the clubhouse – from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or you can leave a message at 416-782-1578 to make arrangements to have them picked up at another time.

AZZURRI DAY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
What is Azzurri Day? Azzurri Day is the final day of the Summer Outdoor Season.  It will consist of a minimum of one game, a BBQ lunch with the team and the distribution of the trophy and pictures.
When is Azzurri Day? Saturday, August 18, 2018   –    RAIN OR SHINE
When does my team play? Azzurri Website will have details of division game times by Wednesday, August 15, 2018.
Where should I park on Azzurri Day ? Parking Lots will be open at 8:00 AM.
There will be attendants at the designated parking lots to aid with parking locations and availablities. 
Please respect the attendants’ directions.Ensure the handicap parking spaces are respected in all lots.  Only City of Toronto issued Handicapped parking permits are allowed to park in the designated handicapped parking spaces. Any illegal parking is at risk of being towed, Toronto 311 Parking Enforcement will be called.

Parking will be available at the Indonesian Christian Church and Toronto Full Gospel church on Petrolia Road as has been all season. 
Note: Parking is limited this year at the Indonesian Christian Church as they also have a function that day.  The church parking lots will be monitored on Saturday August 18, 2018.

Keele Street parking will be monitered and limited.  You will only be allowed to park on Keele Street lot, if you have an Azzurri Parking Pass.   If the yellow  gates of this parking lot are closed, no additional parking will be allowed. 

There will be some additional parking in the complex next to the Azzurri Clubhouse to take some of the overflow parking.  
Please respect the attendants’ directions.

Where should my guests park? If you have guests attending the game(s) with you, please have them park in the designated lots and to respect the parking attendant instructions.
Will there be an information booth if I have further questions that day? Yes, it will be located in the South Field
Where will the First Aid Station be? South Field
Where will lunch be served? Lunch will be served in the South Field.
Event Tents will be provided; chairs may be limited; if you can,  please bring your own chairs.
How do I know if my team plays on OR  if my team has been eliminated? After you game, follow your coach and always check the tournament board.
When do I get my pictures & trophy? After the last game your team plays, please proceed with your coach and team to the trophy & picture distribution station.

Note: If you have any issues/discrepancies with the pictures, please directly contact High Five Photography @ 416-410-4785

What time is lunch? Lunch will be served between 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
OR

What’s for Lunch? Lunch consists of either a beef hamburger and a drink OR a beef  hotdog and a drink.Each player will receive 3 tickets.

Where do I get my lunch tickets? Your coach will have your lunch ticket and will distribute them to you?

Moreover, UNIPROMOS has a mandate to focus their support primarily for the intercity “Youth At Risk” community.

The Toronto Azzurri SC is proud to be associated with UNIPROMOS and over the course of this inaugural year, we have partnered with UNIPROMOS in the following programs and activities:

1) April 13 2018- Toronto Azzurri Soccer “Wall of Fame “ Ceremony- Annual recognition of individuals who have made an impactful contribution to the game of Soccer in the Italo Canadian community over the past 60 years…360 people in Attendance of Gala Night.

 

2) May 18-Aug 18th- Toronto Azzurri Youth Development Soccer League- Now in its 20th year, this program has over 500 youth participants(ages 4-14yrs) that play recreational soccer. UNIPROMOS sponsored the participation of a division (9-10yrs old) of approx. 100 children.

 

3) June 2nd-Sept 3rd- Toronto Azzurri ‘Special Needs’ Soccer- Thanks to UNIPROMOS support, we were able to launch this program involving 24 young ‘Special Needs‘ participants at weekly practice sessions culminating in their participation in a provincial wide tournament on August 11th.

4) Aug 18th/Aug 20th- Toronto Azzurri International U17 Soccer Cup- Featuring Juventus FC and TFC along with two local Select teams in a two day Tournament to showcase Canadian young talent while raising funds for Toronto Azzurri ‘At Risk Youth Programs’. 3000 people in Attendance over two days.

Soccer fans in Canada celebrated France’s World Cup win including fans at the Toronto Azzurri Sport Village.  Watch the interviews with our very own Bob Iarusci and Paul D’agostino who played for the Toronto Metro Croatia in the 1970s.  CBC’s Natalie Kalata reports.

Brian Williams narrates this great piece on how the Croatian roots run deep in the Toronto scene.

 
The North American Soccer League had as many as 24 teams during its run from 1968-1984, including the Toronto Metros, and legendary international soccer stars were imported to sell the game across the continent. But when Toronto’s team struggled, it was the Croatian community that stepped up.
